Cardiac Arrest and CPR Survival Statistics (2024-2025)

  • Survival Rates: About 10.5% of patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrests (OHCA) survive to hospital discharge.

  • Bystander Intervention: Bystander CPR is initiated in roughly 41.7% of OHCA cases.

  • Survival Impact: If CPR is performed immediately, survival rates can increase by as much as 45%.

  • Timing is Critical: Survival chances drop by 7-10% for every minute without CPR. Even if delayed by 10 minutes, CPR offers a 19% higher survival rate compared to no CPR at all.

  • Location of Arrests: Roughly 88% of cardiac arrests occur at home, while more than 15% occur in public locations.

  • Gender Disparity: In public, 45% of men receive bystander CPR compared to only 39% of women.
